Message-ID: <138@hsi.UUCP> Date: Sat, 1-Sep-84 13:47:50 EDT Article-I.D.: hsi.138 Posted: Sat Sep 1 13:47:50 1984 Date-Received: Sun, 16-Sep-84 06:08:49 EDT Organization: Health Systems Intl. New Haven,CT Lines: 11 We develop all of our C code internally on a VAX running 4.2 and port the finished code to, among other systems, an IBM PC. We continually run into the problem of the VAX accepting more characters in an external name than Venix on the XT. It sure would be nice if there was a lint flag that could check for this. It should be a flag that lets the user specify the number of characters of uniqueness required for externals. Anyone done this to lint yet ?
