Message-ID: <282@mako.UUCP> Date: Thu, 30-Aug-84 18:12:39 EDT Article-I.D.: mako.282 Posted: Thu Aug 30 18:12:39 1984 Date-Received: Sat, 1-Sep-84 11:59:01 EDT Organization: Tektronix, Wilsonville OR Lines: 17 [to each his/her own, this is yours!] (Stop snickering, ricks, davecl, janec!) My Olympus (a la Panasonic, Quasar, GE, Cannon, et. al.) portable VCR is serving up lousy pictures, with the bottom third completely torn up, the rest noisy. I've heard scare stories about service (and even experienced them: one place gave me a $135 estimate, claiming a chip in the tuner box was bad -- the recorder box is bad without the tuner's help!) Head cleaning has not helped -- I suspect alignment since the recorder was used in a rugged environment (ski lessons). Does anyone have with VCR repair places they can really recommend? Thanks in advance. -- :::::: Jan Steinman Box 1000, MS 61-161 (w)503/685-2843 :::::: :::::: tektronix!tekecs!jans Wilsonville, OR 97070 (h)503/657-7703 ::::::
