Message-ID: <3089@watcgl.UUCP> Date: Sun, 9-Sep-84 11:36:58 EDT Article-I.D.: watcgl.3089 Posted: Sun Sep 9 11:36:58 1984 Date-Received: Mon, 10-Sep-84 07:21:41 EDT Organization: U of Waterloo, Ontario Lines: 11 Of the graduate students who just arrived at Waterloo to begin a masters or PhD in computer science, just four out of about 40 are women. Although I don't know exact numbers for previous years, this must be quite a drop. I believe the ratio in the previous few years was more like 1 in 5 or 6. What about the other computer science departments out there? Is this a fluke local to Waterloo, or a trend? If it is a trend, why are fewer women going on to graduate studies?
