The doctors who did the cross-species
transplant for "baby Fay" are coming under fire from at least
three groups of misbegotten luddites. (I said this was a flame,
didn't I?)
	The first (and most predictable, I suppose, or maybe I don't,
and who cares?) is the religious
right that is attacking the act as "unnatural" and "ungodly".  
<How about humane? OR is that a dirty word, too?>
	The second is an organization (or three, as well as a number
of individuals, and George Bush<conjunction deliberate!>)
who have doubts because the
doctors didn't look for a human heart first, despite the clearly
acknowledged fact, at least as of this time, that the baby would have
died before tissue cross-matching could have been completed, even had
a proper sized healthy heart been immediately available, a supposition
of extremely small chance itself.
	The third group is a collection of animal lover organizations
who are protesting the death of the baboon for various reasons.
Apparantly human experimentation is OK with SOME of these folks,
but animal experimentation is a no-no.  <I do know folks who
don't feel that way, so spare me the flames.>


	I guess it's easy to see why the rate of innovation
and progress in the wonderful old US of A is disappearing so
fast.   I guess the only thing to do
when you don't know what to do is to blame someone else, eh?

be quite as negative about her even though I disagree with her, she's
only made a minor idiot out of herself.  Frodo for mayor.  Bilbo for
patriarch.  Saruman for court jester.
