Supposedly these Tip Toes are used underneath all your audio components (turntable, preamp, power amp, speakers, etc.) as substitute legs. The premise is that these conical shaped gems provide a better mechanical coupling to your cabinet or floor or whatever, since all the weight of your component now sits on four points. The greater pressure per square inch is supposed to be benificial. Personally, I find the claim suspect for amplifiers, preamps, etc. and probably also for turntables. However, for speakers these things are supposed to pro- vide better bass response. Intuitively this seems true and the review in Audio claimed that the difference was striking. Has anyone out there had any experience with these? Are there any M.E.'s out there who would care to shed some light on the subject? I am considering picking up some since they might serve as a temporary sub-woofer until I can afford one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob Dyas ihnp4!tellab1!tellab2!tellab3!rmd *****************************************
