The McDonnell-Douglas KC-10 is basically a modified DC-10 used as an aerial tanker. The primary differences are a different midsection inthe fuselage and the refueling boom. Most of the production is done on the same line interspersed with production of the DC-10. (At least while the DC-10 was still in production).
