Thanks to all who responded. I just got a call from my local cable company (to be--they haven't finished installing all the stuff) representative. She said she had just gotten my letter to them (sent on August 11!). She said that they carried a taped P.R. program that NASA distributes, but that they were unaware that there were feeds during missions. She thought it was a great idea, and she will pursue the issue. Moral of the story: It is worth writing to your local company. They don't know about everything that is flying by on the downlinks, and they may even be interested. I will post any further noteworthy developments.
