Henry) The New York Times reported today that Senator Jake Garn (R-Utah) has accepted an invitation to be the first public offical to fly in the space shuttle. Garn is the chairman of a senate oversight committee to oversee NASA budgets, an ex Navy pilot with > 10,000 hours of flight time, and has been wrangling this invitation since 1981. My opinions of Garn's politics aside, I'm wondering if this is really appropriate. Robert R. Henry
