I'm no Canadian, but I see nothing wrong with the wording in these TWO recipies.

Recipe one -- The PIE -- makes 7 servings.

Recipe two -- SQUARES -- makes 8 or 9 squares. (because it's a smaller pan.)

Nothing wrong with that.
