I while ago I used to have one of those really dumb, shaggy toilet seat
covers.  It was a little to shaggy, or the seat was a little too far back
or some such thing, so the the seat never stayed up by itself --- you had
to hold it with, er, your free hand.  A friend after leaving the bathroom
gave it its venerable name:  We are the proud owners of a Snapping Toilet.
