Another reason Stevie Ray Vaughn didn't tour with Bowie was that Bowie's
management insisted that SRV not mention his new solo album
in any interviews SRV gave while on the Bowie tour. The report
I read implied that if SRV and Bowie had been permitted to talk,
all the problems would have been ironed out, but that Bowie's
management keeps him very insulated.
