My father was so impressed with the information I got for him on my last
query to the net that he asked me to post this for him.  He is working on
a book and would very much like to give proper credit for a quotation he
saw attributed to "unknown".

We all know the quote (attributed as "ancient chinese saying"?),
    "It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness."
Does anyone know the proper attribution for,
    "It is better to curse the darkness than to light the wrong candle."
