I work for Olivetti ATC, which is a R&D group for Olivetti which is
based in Italy.  As an R&D group our operating expenses come from
Italy.  So when Olivetti has to pay our saleries they take the dollar
amout, multiply it by the current exchange rate, and write the check in
lira.

With the dollar currently so strong, Olivetti-Italy is paying a fortune
in lira to keep may salery at a competetive level in dollars.

So I, for one, think Reagan is doing a terrible job with the economy. -:)
