Also, a VAT would be regressive, in the sense that the pooreer you are, the larger percentage of your income you pay (because you will presumably spend a larger percentage of your income, as opposed to investing it). And you, not the corporations, are paying the tax: an otherwise $2.00 item would cost you $2.20... Otherwise, not a bad idea... Wayne
