Will we make it? >> (allegra,ihnp4,ulysses)!rabbit!jj I can't speak for Rizzo, but I voted for Paul Simon (that is, against Percy), and though I'm not at all happy about the Foreign Relations Committee succession, I'm glad to get rid of that sleaze. Yeah, I know, he used to be an upstanding, independent-minded guy. Well, he stopped. This ain't net.politics, so I'll spare you the statistics. Just wish you'd been here in Illinois, jj, to see all the political commercials. Incidentally, R. Viguerie and Co. did *NOT* back the liberal (Simon), they backed the *Libertarian*. Simon won by 60,000 votes; the Libertarian got about 50,000 I think. Incidentally, I'm convinced the New Right withdrew support for Percy (which may have had a boomerang effect--who knows?) only because they wanted to elevate Helms, figuring that if Helms also lost, the Senate would be pretty well gone for them.
