They said the reason was that they'd received reports of "unwanted and unexplained" activations. I don't know whether this is still in effect. Please note that this affects *all* Mark 2000s, regardless of when they were made. I found the announcement rather puzzling. Sentinels have been blowing off on landing or at high altitude for years, and SSE never seemed to think it was a problem. Of course, if I got $17 for each replacement cartridge, I wouldn't think it was a problem either. I'm of the opinion that the FXC is a better automatic release.
