There is an important difference between it and net.religion.jewish -- the subgroup is much more lowkey and relaxed. There is less flaming, and when we hit a point of contention, we don't usually beat it to death, but rather present different points of view and go on. I think we make it relatively easy for newcomers to ask questions or make statements without being fried to death. We also make it easier for readers to go through the articles to find new information. I think it is good for net.religion to have Jewish readers, and good for net.religion.jewish to have non-Jewish readers. I'm sure you will have no problem contributing your points of view if you aim for the typical, non-Martillo-style of letter that makes up the majority of the contributions. - Toby Robison (not Robinson!) allegra!eosp1!robison or: decvax!ittvax!eosp1!robison or (emergency): princeton!eosp1!robison
