I don't believe that anyone has insecurities "forced upon them"- blaming someone else, be they your esteemed politican, ad-person, or lover for your own feelings does not solve the problem, unless your solution is giving in to their game. (The "game", by the way, does not necessarily have to be overtly malicious in intent- some do it out of habit, motivated by their own insecurities.) I'm not saying that lovers and advertizing agencies do not have a considerable effect on one's self-image, and I do not take aforementioned instances lightly in that regard. But every real person must assert their own individuality in the face of a lot of inevitable misunderstandings, and the extreme hassle involved is much more preferable to facing and living (and eventually becoming) the alternative. (i.e., spending your life making an ad-person's paycheck larger or feeding a lover's unwarranted fantasies) Why should anyone care what they do in Manhattan anyway, except those who live there? ** This is not meant to be a judgement on *anyone* - my "flame" is against a mentality, not a person. ** ---- William Gulley {!inhp4 | !decvax}!stolaf!gulley "In this Age of Communication- I'm just not getting through. ." -Bruford
