I posted the responses to the sleep survey that I had received last week. Now that everyone has had a chance to look it over, I'll tell you what it means. Please keep in mind that this is the view of a doctor who wrote a book on the subject and I am repeating it from memory (of what I remember). Singles Positions Full-Fetal Lay on side, knees pulled against chest. Person has low self esteem. Is not confidant in personal or business life. Semi-Fetal Lay on side, legs at 45 to 90 degree angle to body. Person does not have full confidance in him/herself. King Lay on back, arms at side. Person if confidant in all aspects of self. Variation: Hands on stomach or chest. Confidant but protective of that area of the body. May have had adverse childhood experience. Variation: Cyclops Arm draped over face, covering one eye. Wants to shut out world. Spread Eagle On back, arms and legs spread across as much of bed as possible. Person must have control of his world when awake or asleep. Face down Lay on chest. Sorry, I don't remember what this means. Variation: Spread Eagle Same as above. Leg off Bed In any position, leg swung over side of bed toward floor. Person is is not comfortable being asleep. Must have a foot in the waking world. Remarks The King position is considered to be the best psychological position, with the Semi-Fetal being the most commonly used position. There are many variation of the Positions listed but that could, and did, take up a whole book. Couples Positions Face-to-Face Couple face each other intertwining legs. This is considered to be the position for very close couples. Spoon Face to back. This is the most common position. In a very sexual relationship, person in rear position may place hand on erogenous zones of person in front. Couple very often will switch positions without waking. Back-to-Back Couple face away from each other touching backs or buttocks. Foot Contact This position is usually the last resort before loss of contact altogether. From here separate beds may be the next position. Remarks Married couples tend to use Face-to-Face position in the beginning. Then change to Spoon, to Back-to-Back, then the just minor contact, if at all. Please, I just repeat what I read. Don't mail it, post it! Mike Lesher Burroughs ASG, San Diego, CA.
