Boston? When the 76ers are going to have Moses, Dr. J., *and* the Round Mound Of Rebound himself, Charles Barkley? What you forget is that Moses had a lot of injuries last year, and that's why Boston got there in the first place (okay, so I'm overstating a bit..). However, if you want chauvinistic predictions, I'll give you one - HOUSTON. Ralph Sampson matures quickly. Olajuwon steps into pro ball like he was born to it. Rodney McCray becomes a seamless outside shooter, still capable of taking it inside and dumping it off to the two big guys in the middle. Robert Reid pulls out all the stops for one last good season. And Caldwell Jones finally rediscovers whatever it was he left back in Philly. Okay, so it's farfetched. What do you expect? Reason? Being a Houston fan of *any* sport is tough, tough, tough... We've got to look for roses in very big thorn bushes - sigh. But the big question is - can the Nuggets play defense? Can Portland get over its stupid tradee of five players for an ailing Kiki? Why are the Knicks getting a 6' 8" center? Can Boston manage to lose a few? And a really burning one - can the Pistons manage to win a few of those games they always lose right at the end (a.k.a. the "How can they do so bad with such talent?" question)? Will Kareem run down the court in the playoffs? Will Akeem the Dream and the Round Mound Of Rebound go at it like they did in college? Can Michael Jordan bring an entire team back to life (shades of World B. Free?)? And where in the hell is Downtown Freddie Brown? Davis Tucker At&T Information Systems Denver, CO
