First of all, the Sixers can't have another disaster year like the one
just past.  It seems to happen sometimes after very successful years; it
happened to the Celts in '83, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see
it happen to this year's Lakers.

By the way, I think the entire Atlantic division will finish over .500.
I can't argue with your assessment of Philly.  I think it will be the
76ers or the Celtics, but it's too early for me to call; I have only
seen Philly once, early in preseason against Boston.  In that game, Leon
Wood impressed me much more than the Round Mound, who kept throwing up
15-18 footers all night (as Cousy said, "He has certainly showed us he
can shoot from outside...he hasn't made any yet, though").

The early report card on the Celtics is very good, without Maxwell, who
was horribly out of shape when he was signed.  They have a good chance
of breaking the Russell curse.

Here's to a great rivalry!  I love nothing in sports more than to watch
these two teams go at each other the way they have over the past 5 years.
Basketball at its best.  I also think that this year's versions may be
each team's best in that era.
