In particular, I am looking for a validation suite of C programs similar in function to the FORTRAN validation suite distributed by the Federal COBOL Compiler Testing Service. I realize that since there is no standard for C ( yet! ), there is probably no definitive test suite either. Our goal, however, is just to shake out as many bugs as possible in order to make our UN*X (4.2 BSD) port a little smoother. Thus, a suite which tests for correctness relative to UN*X source would be sufficient. For example, Human Computing Resources Corporation (HCR) offers a test suite (for a good chunk of cash) which they have used themselves for a number of UN*X ports. I would appreciate information concerning other sources for C validation suites or any other means for validating C Compilers. Please mail me your responses. In return, I will post a compilation of all replies to this newsgroup. Thanks in advance. -- Gregory S.
