     A friend of mine who does not have access to the net wanted
to know if anyone has a program which, when given certain relevant
data such as team ranking and past win/loss records, would give
predictions on future performance of a team against certain
opponents (this would be applicable to a whole range of sports,
but I think that football was the application in mind).  I guess
this would be similar to strategies/algorithms used by the UPI/AP
people to rank college teams.

     Anyway, if anyone knows of such a beast, send MAIL (do not
post responses to the net), and I will post a summary if necessary.
