Funny you should mention it, 'cause my Pioneer car stereo was just ripped out of my locked car last Saturday afternoon. The police and insurance company have told me that these alarms are all a waste of money since any good thief can easily disconnect them. I have been advised that a very good means, though quite cheap, of being protected is to buy one of these plates that goes over the cassette part of the tuner. This plate makes it look as if you have a cheap AM radio instead of something better. I've called everywhere here in Washington, DC but nobody has them. However, there is some catalogue of auto parts put out by J.C. Whitney out of Chicago that has them through mail order. They're sending me their catalogue this week, so right now that's what I'm checking into. What's your opinion on this whole mess? -Janet (js@cvl.ARPA)
