I recently bought a pair of David Clark Head set.  I bought the one
with the elecret mike.  I also got the liquid ear cushions along
with the cloth covers.  I am very happy.  I used to have a pair
of Telex. The noise reduction is the difference between night and
day.  With the Telex I would put ear plugs in and then used the
headset.  The DCs without earplugs I believe are better that
the Telex with the ear plugs.

The cheapest place I found to buy them with a credit card was
in California.  Look in Trade-a-plane.
