It seems that the sources were developed for UNIX System V Release 1, which did not have "flexnames" and which used different "portable archive format" and COFF. Does anyone know what the correct procedure is to build a UNIX System V Release 1 - compatible "ar" is from Release 2 sources? PORT5AR or PORTAR? FLEX=?? ??? "UNIX System V. From now on consider it standard." And variable!
