About six to 9 months ago, I read a posting about problems with 
Racal/Vadic modems hanging when using certain switch settings.  At the time,
of course, I had none of these modems, and didn't save a copy of the article,
now things have changed, I am having what seem to be the same intermittent
problems (modem won't answer the phone, just keeps on ringing and ringing).
