If you read another of these scrolls before Zapping the weapon, the > weapon disappears. > > Thanks, > > John Bell The actual name of this scroll is 'vorpalize weapon' (as listed in the code of the program) It has the effect of enabling your weapon to indiscriminantly slay some monster at random. Yours happened to make your mace into 'a mace of nymph slaying' (as you would have discovered using a identify scroll). Unfortunately, for some reason it sometimes seems to work permanently and sometimes goes away after one zap. We have yet to figure out why this variation happens.
