It is not too expensive, lightweight, versatile, and seems safe. In the front seat you use the shoulder harness and get the benefits of an inertia reel; this seems to make the kid much happier. In the back seat there is a shoulder harness arrangement that stores in the car seat itself and hooks to a rear-deck hook. The best part is that it is lightweight and, in the front seat, trivial to connect and disconnect (about as much work as your own seat belt). This makes it ideal for use in other peoples' cars.
