Lines: 21 Greetings fellow netters, Can anyone shed some light on a problem I just discovered in sendmail? It has to do with mailing to files. Apparently Sendmail will not deliver to a file directly, it has to be in the alias file. This is fine, except that sendmail creates files of protection 600 in the /usr/spool/mail directory and future incantations of sendmail simply won't append to a file with that protection. We get back messages which say "Can't create output". Does anyone know what we can do about it (we currently don't have sources to sendmail, but I wouldn't mind hearing about fixes)? What I have to do now is make sure the files are created and have a protection of 622 (which allows users to truncate mailboxes). Thanks, -- [--JSol--] JSol@Bbncca (Internet) {decvax, wjh12, linus}!bbncca!jsol
