I can't remember for sure) because it occasionally and insidiously trashed disks. He was promptly sh*t upon by lots of folks who then gave their own version of what they thought was happening. His final exiting comment (repeated several times), was something along the lines of "when will I learn?" I enjoyed the various "what you won't see in JP's column" pieces; his general attitude does gall me frequently; but I do read his column, generally enjoy it, and I think he provides a useful service. As to why you have to buy BYTE to get the service - hell, if they could, wouldn't most of the people on the net sell what they casually give away here; that is, their opinions? *My* opinions, though I would sell them if I could find any takers, are obviously my own and not those of etc. John Wright {ucbvax, philabs}!sdcsvax!sdchema!jmw UCSD Chem.
