My project may need a C cross-compiler for the AT&T 6300 to run on a
VAX/780.

I'd like information and evaluations on cross-compilers from those with
experience.  I understand Lattice has one - how good is it?

Some modules may be developed partly on the PC itself so I am
interested particularly in systems that have compatible cross- and
native compilers.
