It is a fed. gov.t sponsored documentary on the Mississippi made during the depression. It is occasionally aired. The sound track was written by Virgil Thomson. He also wrote the sound track for a similar documentary call "The Plow That Broke The Plains". Don't miss either of these films--they're interesting, if a bit archaic, and the music is fabulous.
