Sure enough, I received both messages, but through different paths. Godot shuffles news among three neighbors: harvard, mit-eddie, and cirl. According to my logs, I passed the first message (with usa dist) on to just cirl, which seems correct since I got it from mit-eddie, and it had already been to harvard according to the path. The 2nd article was passed to both mit-eddie and cirl (I got it from harvard). Everything seems kosher here. >Relay-Version: version B 2.10.2 9/17/84; site godot.UUCP >Posting-Version: version B 2.10.1 6/24/83; site umcp-cs.UUCP >Path: godot!mit-eddie!genrad!wjh12!harvard!seismo!umcp-cs!mangoe >From: mangoe@umcp-cs.UUCP (Charley Wingate) >Newsgroups: net.news >Subject: Possible problem with distribution feature >Message-ID: <1005@umcp-cs.UUCP> >Date: 12 Nov 84 04:36:36 GMT >Date-Received: 13 Nov 84 08:23:20 GMT >Distribution: usa >Organization: U of Maryland, Computer Science Dept., College Park, MD >Lines: 14 >Relay-Version: version B 2.10.2 9/17/84; site godot.UUCP >Posting-Version: version B 2.10.1 6/24/83; site umcp-cs.UUCP >Path: godot!harvard!seismo!umcp-cs!mangoe >From: mangoe@umcp-cs.UUCP (Charley Wingate) >Newsgroups: net.news >Subject: Distribution test part 2 >Message-ID: <1006@umcp-cs.UUCP> >Date: 12 Nov 84 04:39:35 GMT >Date-Received: 12 Nov 84 12:32:40 GMT >Organization: U of Maryland, Computer Science Dept., College Park, MD >Lines: 14 -- --Bruce Nemnich, Thinking Machines Corporation, Cambridge, MA ihnp4!godot!bruce, bjn@mit-mc.arpa ... soon to be bruce@godot.arpa
