This is just a brief tester to see how many people are interested in
setting up a network subgroup relating to the Acorn Computers/British
Broadcasting Corporation microcomputer system.

As far as I know, the above computer is the single most popular educational
computer in the UK. Recent statistics indicate over half a million sales in
this country alone! I know that it is on sale in Europe and the United
States and possibly elswhere in the world, but not how well it sells.

A large number of Universities and similar establishments in this country
are writing a large amount of software for this computer. If anyone is
amenable, this newsgroup could act as an information forum and channel any
software queries to the relevant guru. In particular, any public domain
software produced could be shared to improve the general quality of all
software for this interesting machine.

With the addition of the Torch computers 'Unicorn' the BBC micro gains a
UN*X facility and will also fit in more with the feeling of the net.
