Canadians such as myself certainly find the new conservative government *here* less than heartening, but infinitely better than the southern counterpart, and we still do have effective (and efficient) universal medicare, effective gun control, eminently livable cities, and generally a lifestyle most Americans would be quite happy with. As well as a good, if small, hi-tech sector, with world leaders in communications (land and space based), particularly. I'm sure a local Canadian consulate or the Canadian Embassy in Washington would be able to provide more information, if only on tourism. It's a nice place to visit too.
