I auditioned the Series 1 Vivtar 70-210 Zoom this summer when I was flush and ready to buy new lenses. With the lens stopped down and focused at 210mm, I found the edge-to-edge sharpness to be somewhat lacking. However, the field was sharp at the low end of the range. As a result of the testing, I bought a fixed 200mm Olympus lens which I have been very happy with. Off into shadow- Corwin, Lord of Amber
