The List of Active Newsgroups shows this as being for geneological matters. I'm interested in geneological research, but I never see any postings here. Has this retreated to a private mailing list a la net.women.only? Seems unlikely. Well, if there is anyone out there, I'd like to know if you've had any luck sending to National Archives for ship's passenger lists and having them return anything. Or do you just have to bite the bullet and take a day off and go to Washington to do the search yourself? Has anyone had experience with private services? Susan Slusky mhuxv!segs -- mhuxv!segs
