Lines: 26 I don't know where you listen to WCBS radio, but the one I listen to (yeah I know there is only one) has been telling us that the law has passed in NJ. The newspapers, TV, and other radio stations are all telling me the same thing. The law will go into effect 4-months after signing by the Guv. The Guv signed the law last week which means that sometime in March, we will be using seatbelts, like it or not. The national news media has been making reports to the effect that there are only so many more states to go until the air-bag regulations will be dropped. That is, if X number of states enact seat belt laws, the regulations concerning air bags will not be put into effect. The media has been pointing out that NJ is number two to require seat belts. NY was number one. The NY law goes into effect in December with a grace period (warnings only) until January 1st (or thereabouts), at which time they will be ticketing folks for not wearing one. BTW-----What is this discussion doing in net.singles? Are there plans afoot to produce two person seat belts, and those of single persuassion are interested in how their SO is going to fit? Is there some sociological impact on singles in relation to seat belts? I know that it is difficult to get huggy-close while wearing seat belts, but are there other implications of which I am not aware? Maybe there are some deep rooted questions that need to be answered here concerning seat belts and relationships. T. C. Wheeler
