I have often thought that somehow there is a receiver of some sorts on the Tardis to harness this energy source. But then I saw Time Flight the other night where we find out that the Master's energy source is dead and he is trying to steal a new (infinitely powerful) one. This would imply that there is a distinct source of power within each Tardis. Well, there's my 2 bits worth.
