Their answer: Five golden rings The real answer: Five golden rings, four calling birds, three french hens, two turtledoves, and a partridge in a pear tree! In "Peanuts" Linus even calculated the totals (40 golden rings, 36 calling birds, 30 french hens, 22 turtledoves, 12 partridges in pear trees, etc.) This would be a good trick question if the answer was right, since most people would simply answer five golden rings, forgetting the rest.
