As I was pulling onto Highway 26 heading into Portland, the clown in front of me was going very slow. So, I put the pedal to the metal, and kicked in the three deuces. About 2 seconds later, I was in the passing lane doing about 75. I looked in the rear view mirror, a new Ford Tempo 4 door seemed to be gaining on me. I left the pedal at the metal, and took her up to 100. The Tempo was still gaining on me. I gave up at 110 (we also started getting some other cars on the road), and at about 70, the Tempo cruised past me. I thought that these cars had 4 cylinder non turbo, non anything engines with a fairly heavy body. Could I have been mistaken? The car didn't have the dual spoiler of a Merkur. Do Tempo's go that fast?
