It consists of a homing beacon, built into the car where it can't be easily disabled. The beacon is normally silent. The police (upon notification that the car has been stolen) will transmit a coded signal which will activate the beacon. Police cars will be equipped with equipment which can track such beacons. WHAT A GREAT IDEA! I'm sure glad that only the POLICE will have the equipment that it takes to activate and track such beacons. Because I know that I can trust the POLICE to never activate my beacon unless my car is stolen. And I know that they will take great care to be sure that it really is ME reporting the GENUINE theft of a car that REALLY belongs to me. And that the police would NEVER cave in to pressure from the FBI, CIA, or Treasury Department. > > Actually the gas tax is among the fairest of all taxes, in that it is > > a user tax.
