For those players faint of heart, stand in the doorway and zap gold or magic items to you with a teleport to. This avoids traps and sleeping monsters. Also, if a monster is beating on you, a teleport to stands a slight chance of teleport away for just a few squares. This could provide valuable time to change weapons or quaff a healing.
