Although Kermit does VT-52 emulation, on the Kaypro II the tabs are set
differently than on VT-52 and Kermit does NOT make allowance for this.
(At least, the version of Kermit that I tried a few months ago did not).
But if you are using the Kaypro II as a really dumb terminal, maybe you
are not aware that it has line insert, line delete, clear to end of line,
and clear to end of screen.  For 300 baud you really need insert and delete
character, but for 1200 baud the provided functions are fairly adequate 
for full-screen editing (I use it with emacs).
