Also, be advised that Stargate is an experiment. The results of the experiment may lead to a recommendation for implementation or cancellation based on the outcome of the test. At this time nothing has changed nor will it for the near term. I think Stargate is an exciting concept that needs our full support. The Stargate concept could guarantee the health of the net for a long time to come. Doing no planning for the future will probably guarantee that it will wither away as site afer site withdraws because the costs are too high. After all, what does net.motss, net.flame or net.younameit have to do with the work most of us are engaged in? How long can we expect our employers (or schools) will foot the bill for these non work (non academic) news groups? Dave Williams
