Message-ID: <7245@watrose.UUCP> Date: Fri, 1-Feb-85 13:17:32 EST Article-I.D.: watrose.7245 Posted: Fri Feb 1 13:17:32 1985 Date-Received: Fri, 1-Feb-85 23:44:49 EST Distribution: net Organization: U of Waterloo, Ontario Lines: 26 The survey that I'm conducting on virginity is going great! So far, there have been over 35 responses. Some people have expressed a concern over the type of summary that I would do (BTW, the concensus is overwhelming for some kind of summary). The summary that I had intended to do was a statistical-type summary. There would be NO names of respondents involved and no INDIVIDUAL data involved. Therefore, there would be no way to identify the respondents. There will also be a section for question #8 (other comments). For this section, I will be sorting through the responses that I received for this question and selecting the responses that I feel would be useful. I would then MAIL the comment back to the sender and ask for their permission to include their comment in the summary. If they give permission, then the comment will be included in the summary WITHOUT A NAME ASSOCIATED WITH IT. Thus, the comment will be totally anonymous. Naturally, if permission is not given, I won't include the comment in the summary. To sum up, the summary will look like this: - totals of figures (e.g. number of non-virgins, average age, etc.). - cross-statistics (e.g. desire to have started earlier as a function of age of first intercourse, etc.). - comments that are anonymous and that have been approved for release by the person. If the prospect of having your opinion/life experience "summarized" over the net was scaring you away from responding, I hope that this might convince you to reconsider. In any case, keep those responses coming!
