(do we really care about line eaters?)

Does anyone out there have schematics of small, high voltage
power supplies that tend to be used in portable laser and
"starlight/infra-red" applications?

I have found a couple of old garbage circuits but they
draw so much and do so little that I refuse to even look
at them.
