It's a joke son. I didn't imply that it damaged records. I was commenting that even the top of the line Shure is noticiably different than some of it's competitors even where the price is not that much different. I used to think that Stanton made the greatest cartridges in the world. I had theirs and I two Audio Technicas at varioius points in time (in case your wondering, I sold the Stanton with the turntable it was mounted in). I found a noticeable improvent over these and the Shure V15s that we used at work when I switched to Microacoustics. On my recommendation several friends bought even cheaper versions of the same cartridge I have. It still sounds better. The versions were priced competitively with almost every other on the market ($80 range). There is a drawback. My replacement stylus cost me $50. I don't know if that is common since I don't often go out pricing styluses by themselves. -Ron
