I just bought a sony D-5 portable CD for $299. I really like it. I must
recommend it as a very good second source. It is not quite the same as a good
LP player but the difference is moot. My roomate wants to know what Beta-HIFI
is. Is it a good thing or a waste. How about the new CD/video-disk/8"video
player from pioneer, that I think is a waste, video disks are going nowhere,
but the technology in the unit is astounding. I am amazed by the D-5, take
a serious look at it.
